| The John A. Stacker Post in Loomis was formed in November of 1945. It was named in honor of Lt. John A. Stacker of Loomis, an Army Air Corps fighter pilot killed in action in Europe on November 13th, 1943.A large number of the founding Veterans of the Post were members of the 442nd Infantry Regiment, a regiment best known for its history as a fighting unit composed almost entirely of second generation Japanese Americans (Nisei) who fought in World War II. They are the most decorated unit in Military History, the unit’s motto was “Go for Broke”, and they were famous in WWII for the rescue of the “Lost Battalion”. | |
