The Loomis Library has computers for library cardholders to use during regular hours of operation:
Tues 1-7 pm and Wed – Sat. 10 am – 5 pm.
No reservations are needed to use the computers, however, you must check in with the front desk to.
Minors must have written parent permission to access the library computers. Parents/guardians can grant permission for their children to use the library computers by filling out a child’s library card application and selecting the appropriate internet options.
All computers offer access to the internet, library catalog, reference database centers, and Microsoft Office.
Users must agree to the Library’s Computer Acceptable Use Policy:
- Computers are available during regular hours of operation. Computers will be shut down 10-minutes before closing.
- Patron must have a Loomis Library and Community Learning Center card and be in
good standing. - There are no age restrictions on the use of computer workstations or the internet. However, a parent/guardian must indicate if they want a minor child to be able to have access to the internet and sign to consent. Parents are responsible for supervising their children’s computer use.
- Generally, computers are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Computers can be reserved in advance for one hour. If the scheduled user is more than ten minutes late, the workstation will be made available to other users. Please call the library for dedicated computer time.
- Staff may dedicate some workstations for specified clients (e.g., children, persons with disabilities).
- Users may download saved material to storage media (e.g. USB or other storage devices.)
- Staff is not available to resolve technical issues.
- Patrons can print from the computers at a cost of 15 cents per page for black and white and 30 cents for colored copies.
- Computer workstation use privileges may be revoked if the patron misuses the hardware or software.
- Computer workstation and Wi-Fi users are subject to the library’s rules of conduct regarding their use of internet access including the following:
• Comply with reasonable staff requests.
• Do not engage in any activity that violates Federal, State, or local laws.
• Do not engage in behaviors or activities that are disruptive to the library or other patrons.
• The making of copies may be subject to copyright laws.
