We want to keep adults, teens, and kids engaged in reading throughout their life. The Summer Reading Program, now called the Summer Reading Challenge, is designed to encourage reading and make it fun! Our theme is Dig Deeper: Read, Investigate, Discover!
The Loomis Library offers four different age-specific challengesĀ that allow readers of all ages to log and read books, to unlock achievement badges, and win prizes. This program is offered through the popular Beanstack software, which offers book and activity logging, and lets participants make recommendations and write book reviews.
Ages 0-4:Ā It is never too early to start your little one on the road to reading! The Li’l Diggers challenge encourages you to spend time sharing books with your little ones while building critical early literacy skills before he or she starts school. Earn badges along the way to unlock prizes. Start your childās journey today. Simply register in Beanstack and enroll in the āLi’l Diggers Reading Challenge.ā
Ages 5-12: And for kids, we have a reading challenged designed to help your child stay engaged with reading and learning. The age-appropriate activities are designed to help your child dig deeper into what interests him/her most while encouraging exploration outside of his 0r her comfort zone. The reading logs help students keep track of their reading accomplishments. Simply register in Beanstack and enroll in the ā2020 Kid’s Summer Reading Challenge. (5-12).ā

Ages 18-109: Adults, this is your chance to demonstrate the importance of reading and life-long learning to the younger generation. Show us how much you love to read and how much you love the Loomis Library by participating in the Adult Summer Reading Challenge!
